Check four things before signing: that the agency works with licensed FIFA agents, that the representation contract is in writing with a clear commission, that it has a real club network — not promises — and that every transfer is backed by scouting data. If the player is a minor, the contract also requires the signature of their legal guardian.

The commission is agreed in writing in the representation contract and is usually a percentage of gross annual salary, within the caps set by FIFA regulations. Be wary of anyone charging you up front to get you a trial or a club: a serious agency gets paid when the player gets paid. If the player is a minor, further limits apply.
